Penelope Teiniker was born on the 10th May, 1947 and passed away unexpectedly on the 4th April, 2021. Aged 73 years. Late of Moore Park Beach and formerly of Johannesburg. Much loved partner of John. Dearly loved Daughter of Duncan & Bobby Vos (both dec’d). Dearly loved Sister, Sister-in-law of Peter & Wendy , Kath and Kyle. Loving Aunt of respective families.

A Funeral Service for Penelope will be held at The Chapel , Branyan Gardens, Cummins Road on Friday 16th April, 2021 at 11.30 am.

Penny and I went to high school together snd we were planning to get together when Covid happened. We should have talked this week, to push our in person time into this year. I feel paralyzed by her sudden death (but hope I go the same way when my time comes) somehow it is a huge loss for the people left behind. I am send love and prayers to all who are left behind. She was a true friend and not many bother to sustain friendships for over 50years. I will miss you Penny… you left too soon!
I met Penny in 1992 working with her in Western Australia and through me Penny met John and the start of their 28 years of love and wonderful times together in adventure and travel. Penny, our lives had us living in different countries consequently we did not see much of each other but when we did it was always fun and an absolute pleasure to be in your company. You have gone so suddenly and I am saddened that Toni and I will no longer enjoy the time with you that we were hoping. Penny our hearts are with John, we will always be there.
As young people in South Africa, whenever our respective families met up I so enjoyed Penny’s company. More recently, she researched and documented our family tree, which was an incredible feat and a real asset for future generations.
Saddened to hear of her sudden death.

I was lucky to meet Aunty Penny once when she came to South Africa to meet her biological mother and all the rest of her extended family. My mum Peggy Page, Penny’s half sister was instrumental in Penny linking up with her family through a letter that Penny had written to one of her half brothers whose address she found. Jack had no idea who this person was and as my mum Peggy was an avid letter writer and had pen friends in other countries he passed the letter on to her which was the beginning of many letters to and from and the realisation of them being family my mum was soooo thrilled to have another sister.
My sincere condolences to all Penny’s loved ones that I was unable to meet and RIP Aunty Penny you can catch up with your brothers and sisters in the after life they will be thrilled to meet with you once again.

I remember as if it were yesterday the day John announced he had a date with a South African lady, Penny, who was to become a good friend to me too.
Penny was a member of the Zebra Club, and was known as Z13. We were a small group of special friends collated by our Chief (Z1), three of us hung out together for a period of time at Penny’s house in Maylands, Perth. Great days and memories.
Penny was indeed unique, nothing fazed her and she carried on with determination to make the best of life regardless what came her way. Even when I visited her in hospital after major surgery, she had that realist ‘I’ve just got to get on with it’ attitude.
Penny had a big heart and I can’t recall a day where she did not have that big smile attached to a big dose of positivity. Penny was a giver and a helper and I was impressed when she told me she had volunteered to drive the van to take patients to the hospital for blood donations in Perth.
Though our distance has been great for many years she remained a valued friend and will indeed be missed. Penny you will forever be in our hearts and memories, soar high in the Ethers and watch over us all. Love and peace be with you. Z4.
Just discovered this option acter again watching Penny’s celebration of life. Wish l had seen it earlier. Penny, my mother’s youngest sister, came into our lives unexpectedly. She was able to meet her mother and siblings, learn about her origins, and become a dearly beloved aunt and friend of mine. When we moved to Australia, Penny and John generously gave us stability and love through a turmultuous and unsettling time. Leave the country meant leaving her, which was very painful. We had so many things in common, besides blood, and l will miss her so much. So wish l could have spent time with her in person again. You are missed liewe Tannie.
