Ian William Rieck  was born on 14th December, 1948 and passed away on 9th August, 2022.

Aged 73 years. Late of Avoca. Passed away at the Friendly Society Private Hospital on August 9th, 2022. Beloved husband of Diane. Dearly loved father & father-in-law of Nigel & Nikki and Alan & Nic. Loved brother & brother-in-law of Niel & Roslyn Rieck and uncle of their respective families.

Relatives and friends of Ian and his family are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service to be held at The Chapel, ‘Branyan Gardens’, Cummins Road, Branyan on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 at 2:00pm.

    On behalf of Damien Mealey, Registrar and Manager of the JP Branch, and the Community Engagement Team, please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved husband, father & father-in-law, brother & brother-in-law and uncle, Ian.

    Ian was a valued member of our JPs in the Community Volunteer program and his contributions as a Justice of the Peace at Sugarland Plaza and the Bundaberg community will long be remembered.

    While we will not be able to attend on Wednesday, please know that you are in our thoughts, and we hope you and your family find some comfort and peace in your memories of Ian.

  3. Ian was a valued ans vital member of the “Boy’s Club” at Sugarland Plaza JP Signing Site. He did a splendid job as the Site Co-ordinator and was very well liked by all of the clients that he served. He is soreley missed and will be so for a long time.

    I first met Ian as a regular customer. This quickly developed into a true friendship. I will miss our regular phone calls and email exchanges. So sorry that we are unable to attend his farewell. Deepest condolences to you and the family.

Ian was my cousin, he was almost 1 year older than me, We would visit around xmas time most years when we were young and i have fond memories of those visits, i moved to other parts of Australia in my adult life and did not have much contact with Ian in my adult life. My parents Herb (brother of Ian’s father) and Merle Rieck eventually returned to Bundaberg in their last years, I know Ian was quite helpful to my Mother and Father and I appreciate his help, my condolences to his family and friends

  7. Not living in Bundaberg I only heard of Ian’s passing this morning. I will surely miss Ian as when I visited Bundaberg he always invited my family for a feed. Sad to hear of his passing, my and my families condolence to Diane and Family, Steven and Noela Smith
