Late of Banfield Street, Bundaberg, Lester passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2026, aged 74 years. Beloved husband of Ruth. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Kylie & Gavin and Belinda. Loving ‘Poppy’ of Bridie, Thomas, Ollie and Emily. Dearly loved brother of Kevin (dec’d), John (dec’d) and Janell & Warren.

Relatives and friends of Lester and his family are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service to be held in The Chapel, ‘Branyan Gardens’, Cummins Road, Branyan on Friday, February 6th, 2026, commencing at 10:00am.

A powerhouse of a man who could get things done. One of my best drinking buddies back in the day. Never knew he was called Slab. When did that become a thing? Sadly, I never knew he was ill, so missed my chance to say goodbye. I remember clearly a competent man, good natured who loved his family. He rarely fired up as his temperament was very even which made him popular with whoever crossed his path. The world can use more Lesters, it’d be a happier, friendly place. Time and game my friend….busy hands now at rest. The softball community owes you in spades even though the current generation may not know your name, they will speak of you often over the coming weeks. Condolences to Ruth, Kylie, Belinda and the grandies. They broke the mould when Lester was made.
