Evelyn Winifred ‘Granny’ Close was born on 2nd February, 1937 and passed away on 6th February, 2024.
Aged 87 years. Late of Yandaran. Passed away on February 6th, 2024. Beloved wife of Kenneth (dec’d). Dearly loved mother & mother-in-law of Barbara, Susan & Duck, Wayne, Pat & Ross, Lizzie & Ronnie, Loretta & Tim and Chris & Kate. Loving ‘Granny’ of 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Dearly loved daughter of George Hair. Loved sister of June and step-sister of 10. Much loved aunt of their respective families.

To all my cousins in Bundaberg, I know your hearts are heavy right now, my deepest sympathy to you all. Aunty Ev was so loved by Mum (Aunty Eil) and me. She will be sadly missed but will always be in my heart. I will treasure the memories we spent together and will miss our chats filled with laughter and many giggles. She was a pure soul who just gave of herself to all her family who she cherished so much, so my thoughts are with you all at this time
Evy was one of the most kind, generous , unassuming, and courageous souls to have graced this earth . To her , her children , their children and their children were the centre of her Universe .
She would want you all to love and support each other .
Remember , I have no doubt , she will be quietly sitting up there on her fluffy white cloud watching you all .
