Dianne Margaret Leggo was born on 14th October, 1940 and passed away on 3rd October, 2025.
Dianne passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2025, aged 84. She made her home for many years on the Gold Coast, and previously in Bargara and Bendigo. Married to Len (deceased), mother to Craig (and wife Jen) and Jorn, grandmother to Alex, and sister to Lance, Joyce and Graeme (all deceased).
Dianne will be remembered for her strength, generosity and lifelong service – especially through her many years with Zonta and the friendships she built along the way.
“Forever in our hearts.”
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at The Chapel, Branyan Gardens, Cummins Road, Branyan, Bundaberg, on Tuesday, 14th October, at 1:00pm.
At Dianne’s request, no flowers please. A donation to Zonta or a simple act of kindness in her memory would be appreciated.

A wonderful friend and dedicated member of Zonta.
Dianne will be greatly missed.
My thoughts are with Craig and Jen
So saddened to hear of this loss to our community. She was a beautiful person with such commitment to the Zonta cause.
The world has lost a wonderful woman. Dianne will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by Zontians in Zonta district 22. Dianne had a great passion for Zonta and women’s issues and was instrumental in forming many District 22 Zonta Clubs. This has been recognised with the ongoing Dianne Leggo Honour Roll, which was started in 2019. I am grateful to Dianne for all that she did, and for the personal support and guidance that she provided to me. Deepest condolences to all of the family.
So sorry not to be able to attend as overseas. Honoured to have known this gorgeous human being.
The world has lost a magnificent lady, and she was a lady in all senses. She was a mentor to me for Zonta when I moved from Victoria to Bargara. Many laughs together on Zonta trips and Conferences. She will be sadly missed. Condolences to her family.
Our beautiful friend of 60 years. Our travel buddy who delighted in Life. We will miss you so much sweet Dianne. Your positive Pollyanna attitude got you through all the hurdles. Now you can rest in peace with you’re precious Len. Thanks for the memories. Love to Craig and Jen.

Dianne was remarkable, gentle lady whose compassionate nature and consideration for others, combined with a generosity of spirit were the basis of her life of altruistic service. My loving thoughts to Craig and Jen.
Dianne will be greatly missed by her friends at TriCare.
Dianne was an amazing and inspirational woman. She will be deeply missed. I truly do not know where she found the energy to keep working so hard, helping women and girls through Zonta. I am so glad she did though and am so honoured to have met her and had her as a mentor.
Our members’ thoughts and prayers are with you today, Sincerest Condolences from ZONTA Club of Paradise Point Inc.
An incredible story for an amazing life’s journey, for a lady who has always been beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. She wasn’t only mum’s sister, she was also her best friend, and often the rock on which mum relied during her own tribulations. Thank you, Craig and Jen, for everything you have done to make Dianne’s life easier in her times of need, and for keeping the family updated and involved during this difficult period. A life not only well led, but also well remembered. Vale Dianne.
Today is your 1st heavenly birthday, Dianne; I hope it’s grand and pain-free. It feels a touch ironic that we are saying our formal farewells on this day, but perhaps it’s a fitting convergence of a day that celebrates your life and a day that honors your passing. Your legacy is nothing short of incredible. Though our time together was brief, your charming and kind nature, your powerful perseverance, and your warmth made a lasting impression on my heart (as it did on the hearts of so many others.) I’ll always cherish the privilege of interviewing you to create an impactful Zonta club creator video with Ans; it stands as a testament to your vision and successful outcomes. You remain an inspiration, and you will be deeply, deeply missed. Sending my thoughts of support to your family today, and to your Zonta club, Z-club, and district. Rest easy friend, until we meet again.
Days slipped in without telling me
I missed Star with no Celestial body
A Moon I thought I had Her light–
Night tide’d never caught me tight
Ever whom we loved, singing a lullaby,
Resting hands by Cradle and said g’bye.
May you rest in peace, Dianne. Finally your long battle is over and you will join your beloved Len. You will be missed and remembered by all. You were a special person!
Dear Craig and Jen,
I have had the privilege of taking part in Diane’s farewell from the other side of the world and want you to know how touched I was by your words and the photos which brought her back so vividly. Though my time with her was short in Vancouver, brief visits in Bundaberg and language holidays in Italy, w e have always kept in touch. I admired her courage when she continued on in life without her beloved Len, when she became involved with Zonta even receiving a well-deserved Australian merit, and when she dealt with the pain and discomfort of her ailment for so many years.
You, Craig and Jen, were her mainstay in life and this should comfort you in the moments when you most miss her. I was sorry not to see your brother at the service and I know that she suffered his rejection of her as any mother would. He surely has regrets and I hope that you will find each other for the sake of your mother and your nephew. Knowing Diane’s big heart, I feel certain that she would be relieved by such a reunion.
I close my message with warm thoughts for you both and may you share wonderful memories of your beloved mother.
Dear Dianne. I only found out today that you were no longer with us. I thought it odd I hadn’t heard from you, you were always organising something and we were always happy to be involved. I hope you’re happy wherever you are; the earthly world is a little bit “less than” now we’ve lost you. I’m honoured I got to take you to your first protest rally…. At age 83 in July last year. It was wonderful to see your smiling face taking it all in, and for our daughters aged 6 to learn from you. We had a grin and a tear today looking back at the photos of that day. You were a warrior behind that keyboard, you made things happen. I hope I’m like you one day. Thank you for the memories and the life lessons. Love Kirsty and Shaan (MATE / Be There Group).
