  1. I knew Philip from the many years he was a member and then Chair of the Wide Bay TAFE Council when I was Director of the institute. I recall his outstanding commitment to the community and to ensuring educational opportunities for all. I had the utmost respect for Philip’s intelligence and integrity and also for the genuine friendship and support that he provided. My sincere condolences to his family.

  2. When I took on the position of College Director at Bundaberg,in January 2000, I was extremely fortunate to meet the College Council Chair and to quickly learn that Philip would become a very generous colleague and friend during our close association. Philip held a strong loyalty to the college and the community, putting the needs of students as the highest priority. It was a privilege to work closely with Philip and our frequent road trips for College or Institute business were always enjoyable and filled with wonderful rich conversations. I too extend my sincerest condolences to Philip’s family.

  3. Philip was my boss at BSES in Bundaberg for 13 years from 1972 to 1984. This was a memorable period in my career, working in the the sugar industry. Philip and I traveled a lot together to sugar mills throughout Queensland and to sugar conferences every year. We had some great times. We have remained in contact ever since.I last saw Philip on 2nd July this year at Palm Lake aged care. It was great to reminisce about old times and to solve the problems of the world. Philip was as sharp as ever. My sincere condolences to Vicki, Peter and Janine.

  4. I was fortunate to have known Phil as a senior manager at Bundaberg TAFE and then as a committee member colleague with CQUni. The most genuine and friendly person I ever had the opportunity to meet. I will miss his wisdom and professional approach to everything he was involved in. Sincere condolences to his family.

  6. MY condolences for the death of Phil. He was a great man in the sugar industry and a good leader of his section at BSES, where he was very helpful to my activities. He will be missed.

  7. Dear Vicki, Peter and Janine

Please accept our very sincere condolences on the death of your father. We worked together at the BSES from 1965 to 1972, and stayed in touch over the years through our mutual interest in the Institution of Engineers, Australia. I would stayed in touch in any case as my wife Ronda and I considered Phil and Lynelle friends. I spoke to Phil on the phone just a few weeks ago and he told me about his operation and how much he missed Lynelle. I will miss him
