Joan Cynthia Jones  was born on 9th October, 1920 and passed away on 15th August, 2020.

Aged 99 years and 10 months. Late of Palm Lake Care and formerly of Miller Street, Bargara and Crofton Street, Bundaberg. Beloved wife of Lloyd (K.I.A Bouganville 1945). Dearly loved mother & mother-in-law of Alan & Denise. Loving grandmother of Mark & Deirdre, Christopher, Alison & Wayne, Kerri Anne & Gary and great-grandmother of Brianna, Arianwen, Hayden, Charli and Gemma. Loved sister, sister-in-law and aunt of Eric (dec’d) & Glen Cunningham and family. Life member of War Widows Association.

“At Rest”

A Funeral Service for Joan will be held at the ‘Garden Chapel’ of F.C.Brown & Co, McLean Street on THURSDAY, August 20th, 2020 at 10:30am, followed by an interment at Bundaberg General Cemetery (Hampson Street entrance).
Covid-19 restrictions apply – 100 guest only in attendance.

  1. Alan & family, Sympathy in the loss of your mother. I can remember her from Bargara golf and also from her business in Woongarra Street. So close to 100 but you do not need them to suffer just to make that grand old age.

    1. Many thanks for your thoughts Del. You probably knew that she had been in care at Palm Lake for a bit over 2 years after a couple of falls. She hadn’t been all that well this year but looked like she was going to reach the 100 mark but went downhill very quickly in the week before she passed away. We managed to bury her with her parents which is what she wanted. I miss her a lot because she was in our lives almost every day since we came back to Bundaberg in 1980. Thanks again. Alan Jones.

    1. Thank you Maureen for your kind thoughts. It looked like she was going to make the 100 but went downhill quickly in the week before she passed away. We had lots of good times together since we came back in 1980 and she loved the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. Regards Alan Jones.
