Darryl Stuart Scherer  was born on 22nd April, 1940 and passed away on 8th December, 2021.

Aged 81 years. Late of Langbeckers Road, Thabeban. Passed away unexpectedly on the 8th December, 2021. Beloved husband of Vivian (dec’d). Beloved father and father-in-law of Noeleen & Russell Schulte, Robyn Scherer, Lorraine & Mark English and Leisel Scherer. Loving grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dearly loved son of Kurt & Joyce Scherer (both dec’d). Much loved brother of Karen Scherer.

A Funeral Service for Darryl will be held a The Chapel ‘Branyan Gardens’, Cummins Road, Branyan on Thursday December 16th, 2021 at 2:00pm.

  1. My deepest condolences. I have many fond memories of Darryl and Karen attending Wartburg State School’s awards evening where they presented the Egon Scherer citizenship award.

  2. Thank you Julie Dad took a lot of pride in his family history and this was just one way he felt he was able to honour his families migration to Australia both he and Karen were and are very keen to see the family name remembered in the area thank you for your best wishes and condolences

  3. The residents here where the Scherer family name lives on with the Street named in their honour wish to record our sympathy for you all on Daryl’s sudden passing. We developed a great friendship and respect for him and his personal efforts in trying to ensure that the former family farm land was developed by consultation with the residents and respect for the environment . We will miss his continued friendship and his deep understanding of the land he once farmed. He will be missed. Rest In Peace . Darryl .   4. Thank you Mary and the Residence of the Estate and Scherer Boulevard where our Dad and Brother once farmed your condolences and heart felt comments are appreciated by us his family. He certainly was a man who had a strong sense of right and wrong and would always have the backs of those he believed were being wronged and always stand up and be heard for the people he felt were being wronged or being taken advantage of he will be missed.

  5. Very sorry to hear of Darryl`s passing.Sincere sympathy to all the family He was a one of.I used to race against him and Karen at Kensiigton go kart track in early sixties and was there when he did the first lap in that chrome twin engine speed machine Great memories.

    1. Thank you Trevor for your thoughts and memories of him in a sport both he and Karen loved and enjoyed. I was only young but do remember some of the meets .
