  1. To Ross, Sarina and Linda. So sorry to hear about your mum’s passing. We are a wonderful friendship when you lived opposite us in Morshead St. our thoughts and prayers are with all. Love Pam and John Baldwin.

  2. Dear Ross, Sarina, Linda and Families,
What a lovely tribute to a lovely lady. She will undoubtedly be missed not just by yourselves but by a much wider circle both in Australia and over here as well. Her, easy manner, kindness and graciousness touched the lives of many, far and wide. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time but the love that she showered you all with, the example of how to live life graciously with thought to the needs of others that she taught you together with the wisdom she bestowed to you all will stand you in good stead in the challenging times ahead. Her love for her family was steadfast and her legacy will live on through her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
My personal first memory of her when I was about 3 years old just before they embarked on their adventure of a lifetime. Your Mum and Dad were babysitting for Linda and I. I cried the whole evening!! I always thought of her as my Glamorous Auntie living a glamorous life in a glamorous new country. I remember also the sadness that surrounded them leaving Scotland but also the excitement when we received a new Air Mail letter from her. I wore with pride the various handmade “couture” outfits she sent for us three girls all the way from Australia. Believe me, at that time in Glasgow, they WERE glamorous!!!! She was very talented. She once send us 3 blazers that she had made for us from a newspaper pattern of our pyjamas that she told my Mum to sent her! And she had embroidered out initials on the breast pocket of them. We did look smart! It was also great to catch up with her when she visited Scotland and Spain. She also made Abbey, my daughter very welcome when she spent some time in Australia and Abbey has some lovely photos of that time that we have been looking at in the last week. Fond memories that nothing can take away.
Thanks Auntie Cathie for being you. I know you will be dancing and singing in heaven, and probably tending the garden or maybe even “running up” a few outfits for some lucky children too.
    Fly high Auntie Cathie xx
My very best wishes to you all. Look after each other.
    Marie
