  1. Sad to learn the passing of a true shipmate and friend,Alex who was an inspiring leader and mentor to me during my formative years as a Marine Engineer with ANL.

  2. Alex was a “one in a million” man, a true and honest man, a person’s person, and a wonderful and patient individual with a charismatic personality who instilled in everyone who came into contact with him, a wonderful memory of wanting to be his friend.
He will deeply missed by his Marine Engineering fraternity and all those who in his social world.
    Take a “Bundy” with you,
    Blessings mate.

  3. I first met Alex in early 1974 when he was 1st Engineer on the Australian Enterprise and again sailed with him on the Australian Emblem in mid 1975, by which time he was the Chief Engineer there.

As a big strong man, he had a certain aura about him. He led by example, with a work ethic and stamina few could match. He was also a great mentor to us younger engineers and highly regarded by all who sailed with him.

But above all he was a man of unwavering faith; a good man and a shipmate who would leave a lasting impression on us all.

May you rest in peace Alex.

  5. To Bruce, Sandy and family, you were truly blessed to have had such a wonderful person in your lives, and the memories will continue as they are passed down from generation to generation. A story retold is the past re-visited, and you all have many wonderful ones inter-twined with Scottish ancestry, Australian genealogy, blessed with family and the strength of friends. Our sincere condolences to you all, Wain Rath and family – Rockhampton & Bundaberg
